“And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ…” (Eph. 4:11-12).
Every Sunday is the Lord’s Day. We come together to worship and to express our love to our Heavenly Father. We praise God for sending His Son, Jesus Christ to be our Savior and coming King. Coming on Sundays is one of those few occasions whereby most of the church families gather together as one body.
As a gathered church family, we will worship our God and be given an opportunity to make one of the most significant decisions in the life of our church. We will be voting to call the next Senior Pastor of our church.
The Apostle Paul states that God has called and gifted Godly men to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, not that they do the work of the ministry. The word, equipping, has the idea of perfecting, bringing to completeness or wholeness. Something which is lacking becomes fully functional.
We are trusting God that His servant will strengthen and encourage us so that we will rise up to do the work of the ministry. It may be that God will lead other men and women into our church to teach and
to mentor us so that we become disciples of Jesus Christ. We’re looking ahead to see what God will do through His servant, our next Senior Pastor.
Pastor Arnold has laid down a very good foundation for us. We, as a church family, are deeply indebted to him and his wife, Effie for the seven years of ministry in our midst. We’re trusting God that the next Senior Pastor will be able to build upon and expand our ministries that he has carefully directed us. We’re looking ahead and Lord willing, forging ahead together to become more mature in Christ Jesus.
You can encourage us by being present this Sunday and every Sunday as we seek together to build up
the body of Christ at Living Stones Fellowship Church. Will you join us this Sunday as we worship God and rejoice in how the Spirit of God will lead us in calling our next Senior Pastor? I look forward to greeting you each Sunday as you enter the Lord’s House.
