You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3
“Let All That You Do Be Done in Love” notebook has been sitting on my dining table since the Church Retreat. I see it every day but ignore it every day. Should I write something in it or just file it away? I’m not too sure what to do with that notebook.
Are you having the same problem like me? It’s shuffle into some corner or worse it may even be in the recycle bin. Notes that were taken but nearly forgotten. Who really keeps it and what do we do with it?
As recorder of the Wednesday’s Prayer Meeting, it’s the same problem. Last week’s prayer requests are difficult to recall by memory and it’s almost impossible to remember one month ago, never mind one year ago. When someone brings it up, ah, there is faint memory of it. I’m forgetful. Do you also have that problem?
My trip to San Francisco brought back fond memories of family and friends. Ramona’s brother, Leslie, took us on a journey of photos of their uncles and aunties that included her childhood. We had lunch with dear friends when I was in high school and some even back to elementary school. We visited our former church and were very happy to see that there were still faithful members attending the church and some even have taken greater leadership in the church.
Listening to family and friends over lunch or dinner in San Francisco, my ability to recall their prayer requests fades in time. I decided to used that notebook as my personal prayer journey. I haven’t quite figure out how I want to do it as prayer for people, for churches or for the tomorrow events. I’m finding that unless I write it down and keep a prayer journal of each day’s events, I forget the grace of God extended to me each day.
This Prayer Journal of mine or of yours is a record of God’s grace in their lives and in our lives. One day, it will be read
by a family member or a friend. Let’s leave a testimony for the next generation to be encouraged by what God has done and continues to do in your life and mine.
What are you going to do or what did you do with the Church Retreat Notebook? Are the pages still blank? Let’s fill it with our praises and prayers to God. Let it be a record of the testimony of God’s grace in your life and mine.
