In every new day that God gives us, He provides opportunities. These opportunities involve responsibilities, blessings, privileges, tasks and sometimes surprises. To be sure, we’re usually busy and have a list of things we need and hope to accomplish. Yet, for every day the Lord gives us, we should be grateful. The word gratitude expresses thankfulness.
Let’s consider a few Scriptures taken from The New American Standard Bible to apply and follow as we live out each day.
I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High (Psalm 9:1, 2).
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him (Psalm 28:7).
Praise the Lord!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting (Psalm 106:1).
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow (James 1:17).
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father (Colossians 3:17).
Demonstrating gratefulness is not only pleasing to God, but it encourages our souls, and can be a testimony to others.
