Summer Is Here!

“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9

From children to college students, praise God that the school year is over. Time to sleep in until mid-morning and stay up passed their usual bedtime. Parents are rejoicing that at least they can take a vacation even if it is with the children during the Summer. Grandparents are jumping up and down as they don’t have

to drive the grand children to and from school. What a relief to sleep until 8 am unless one has a dog!

We have about a month left of Summer. Preparations for the Fall school year is around the corner so we need to make the most of July. Many of us are about to go on vacation for a week or two. If we could take three weeks or more, that would be a dream of lifetime. There’s no objection from the wife!

What are you going to do in the month of July? Have you made any plans yet, better hurry up. In all of our Summer plans, there’s something greater and more grandeur that we haven’t considered. God has a plan for your Summer!

It’s not so much where you go or what you see this Summer. It is who you meet! Maybe, it’s more about spending time with your spouse, your children, or even moments for private reflection on our own spiritual life and walk with the Lord. It’s been a busy year at work or at school, but now it’s time for family or friends.

When that moment comes during this Summer, don’t just ignore it. Do enjoy the moment with your family or friends, taking a long moment to listen to a family member, being happy for each other. It may come in meeting an unexpected stranger while waiting in line, dining at a restaurant, or meeting someone while attending a church service. A conversation that changes someone life may be waiting for you.

I didn’t originally plan to go to Singapore or Indonesia, but the Lord has directed our steps. I didn’t plan to preach in Indonesia, but the Lord has directed our steps. Perhaps God may even have more surprises for us

in our upcoming vacation. Don’t be surprised that God has something more for you than just a vacation!
