Encouraging Bible Verses For Father’s Day From The Psalms and Proverbs

Consider reading these verses together and discuss them as a family or use your smart devices to go over them if your family is not all together this weekend.

Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him (Psalm 103:13).

Praise the Lord!
How blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.
2 His descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the upright will be blessed (Psalm 112:1, 2).

3 Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate (Psalm 127:3-5).

8 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction
And do not forsake your mother’s teaching;
9 Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head
And ornaments about your neck (Proverbs 1:8, 9).

Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father,
And give attention that you may gain understanding (Proverb 4:1).

In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And his children will have refuge (Proverb 14:26).

A righteous man who walks in his integrity—
How blessed are his sons after him (Proverb 20:7).

Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverb 22:6).

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who sires a wise son will be glad in him (Proverb 23:24).

Have a blessed Father’s Day!
