46‘Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ & do not do what I say? 47Everyone who comes to Me & hears My words & acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep & laid a foundation on the rock; & when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house & could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 ‘But the one who has heard & has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; & the torrent burst against it & immediately it collapsed, & the ruin of that house was great.’” Luke 6:46–Luke 7 (NASB95)

Trials & tribulations are an inevitable fact of life. No one can completely avoid them or prevent them. However, we can take steps to lay strong foundations that will help you withstand their fierce onslaughts.

Jesus gives us a key to withstanding the devastating punches that life’s trials & tribulations throw at us – it is building a strong foundation that is solid & deep. One can build a strong foundation through obedience to what the Lord as said. A strong foundation for life is built by obedience to what the Lord has said.

So, if you want to handle the tests & troubles that life throws at you, know, & understand the precepts & principles for life that God gives us through His Word, the Bible. Obediently apply them in your lives. It may be precepts & principles about your home life (Eph. 6), i.e., how to love your spouse, parent your child, get along with your neighbor. It could be how you conduct yourself outside your home (1 Co. 10), i.e., how you should conduct yourself before your co-workers & classmates. You can find encouraging precepts & principles to have & maintain high moral character. The kind of moral character that will please & honor God versus the low immoral character that the world temps us to settle for (1 Pe. 1:13-16).

When you are attacked by the temptations & tragedies of life, you will not only survive but rise above them stronger than before. This comes from having a strong foundation built by obedience to God’s precepts & principles.

Strive to be strong thru obedience.
