Expression of Love

Expression of Love
“…I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, I have drawn you with loving kindness…For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Jeremiah 31:3 and John. 3:16

These are both very familiar passages of scripture. What we want to especially note is how God has no reservations about expressing His love to His own.

For most people, It is not easy for people to vocalize their love to others, i.e. a husband to his wife, a mother to a child, sibling to another sibling. In fact, if many cultures love is not expressed in words but rather by some kind and gracious act, i.e. cooking, feeding, or caring for someone.

God does both – He says He loves us and He expresses thru His acts of grace and mercies to us. This especially true, when He sent His Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins, making forgiveness of sin and eternal life possible for each of us who receive His gift of salvation by faith in Christ.

On Sunday we will celebrate Mother’s Day. This is a great opportunity to express our love for our precious mothers. Take this opportunity to share your love for your mothers in a few words – tell them you love them & appreciate all they do for you. Follow it up with some sacrificial act of kindness, i.e. taking them to some place they have been wanting to go or doing something that they never thought they would be able to do.

God expresses His love for us in words and deed. Let’s do the same.
