Immanuel

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son,

and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated, ‘God with us’.”

Matthew 1:23

Here is a great story of the power of God being with us.

Back in 1910, D. R. Van Sickle wrote a beautiful Christmas poem, “All Hail to Thee, Immanuel.” Within

the poem were such beautiful expressions as “All hail to Thee, Immanuel, we cast our crowns before Thee; let every heart obey Thy will, and every voice adore Thee.” The truth of the words was put to

music by a famous Christian composer of that time, Charles Gabriel. It became a favorite in churches,

but the churches did not know that author of the lyrics was not a Christian. Van Sickle wrote the inspiring poem from his heart.

Years later, Van Sickle happened to be in a church service where the hymn was sung. He was convicted of his sin and by faith believed in Christ as his Personal Savior. God used Van Sickle’s own words about “Immanuel – God with us!” to draw Van Sickle to Himself. God works in mysterious and wondrous ways!

God being with us, holds a treasure chest of assurances for each child of God. God is with us in life’s trials and tribulations. A fresh supply of His mercies come to us every day.

Dr. David Jeremiah puts the truth of God with us this powerful way, “His Spirit is within you, His plans are

before you, and His peace is no more than a millimeter from your mind if you’ll only remind yourself:

Immanuel-God with you!”

Immanuel – God is with us!” If you have not yet received Christ as your Personal Savior, do it now. And, if you have, remind yourself every day, in every situation, God is with you.

Because He Came,
