Have you been watching the news on the Ukraine-Russia War? The devastation and destruction of property, the humanitarian crisis, and the loss of lives are horrific. A nation is fighting for its survival, wanting to be free, while another nation is fighting for its survival, fearful of losing more of its former glory. All eyes are on the outcome of the Ukraine-Russia War.
Is this the staging of WWIII? Is this the staging for the rise of the Antichrist? Could the United States response be the same today when the Antichrist rises to power? Eschatological questions abound as
“Is the return of the Lord imminent?” or the “Reconfiguration of the 10 nations without Russia?”
Perhaps another view to consider is this: The Ukraine-Russia War may be one of the greatest evangelistic opportunities for Christians. The unsettling of European nations and its people may even be the spark for revival in Europe. Christians must seize the opportunity to share the Good News and to do good instead of being complacent in our churches.
Paul writes that believers are in a spiritual warfare, not with flesh and blood, ”12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (NIV).
There is a spiritual battle unfolding before our eyes. It’s the spiritual forces of evil affecting our world. Could it be that God is causing the European nations to be shaken? Could it be that a crack in complacent lives of the Europeans that nothing is secure in this life? Could it be a door for Christians and churches to seize the opportunity to proclaim salvation and security is found only in Jesus Christ? Could revival come to Europe?
There is much more to the news that meets our eyes. God is working among the nations. Don’t just watch the news. You can help make news by praying and even giving to make a difference in the outcome of Christians in Europe. Let’s pray for the Ukrainian and Russian people that God will open their eyes to see that salvation and security is only found in Jesus Christ.
